I am looking to connect to the Royal TS Server secure gateway through a firewall. Is this possible? I have tried to set this up with SSH port forwarding but I don't have much experience with that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Heya,
if your Royal Server installation is behind a firewall, you need to open 54899 for management connections and 22 for Secure Gateway connections (if you configured default values). SSH port forwarding is internally used by the Secure Gateway - you don't need to do anything manually here.
cheers,
Michi
